Towards increasing the scope of youth empowerment and job creation among graduate youths, a firm, General Electric, has proposed to train Corps Members in different vocational skills.
It also reiterated its commitment to the development of Skills Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development (SAED) programme of NYSC Scheme, aimed at job creation among Corps Members.
The Managing Director of the firm, Mohammed Mijindadi, stated this today while on a courtesy visit to NYSC Director-General, Brigadier General Sulaiman Kazaure in his office at the Directorate Headquarters, Abuja.
Mijindadi added that the firm would equally harness its resources by training forty members of NYSC staff in different vocations as a form of empowerment.
In his remark during the visit, the NYSC Director General, Brigadier General Sulaiman Kazaure, said the Scheme is mobilizing over 300,000 Corps Members annually.
He told the visitors that Skill Acquisition training centres have been established in Gombe, Ekiti and Delta states to cater for post-camp trainings for Corps Members.
General Kazaure added that the Management would not relent in its efforts towards making Corps Members self reliant and job creators.
