Human Rights Writers Association of Nigeria (HURIWA) has asked the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Muhammadu Buhari to approve the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) trust fund that would create financial autonomy for the youths.

National Coordinator, Emmanuel Onwubiko argues that the fund will help provide financial security for corps members after their passing out from the program

He added that aside from the positive, transformational, and constructive social impact the trust fund would bring "the initiative is about the surest panacea to end the involvement of the perennial youth in social crimes."
