NYSC Bans University of Agriculture, Makurdi and BSU Graduates from Serving
The University of Agriculture, Markurdi and Benue state University has been banned by the National Youth Service Corps from mobilizing their graduating students for the one year mandatory youth service for the next two years.
This was due to the alleged discovery by NYSC that the management of the two schools help students to manipulate their age to make them eligible for the one year program.
NYSC extends online registration for Batch C Prospective Corps Members
The management of the National Youth Service Corps has announced that the ongoing registration exercise for the 2018 Batch C prospective corps members has been extended to Friday, October 19, 2018.
This announcement was made by the NYSC management on all its social media platforms on Tuesday, October 16, 2018.

Registration for NYSC 2018 Batch "B" PCMs commences July 10
The Management of National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has announced that the registration for mobilization of 2018 Batch B Prospective Corps Members (PCMs) will commence on Tuesday 10th July, 2018.
The Registration which is done online at the official NYSC portal will end on Monday 16th July 2018.
PCMs who are yet to register in the NYSC portal including the newly uploaded graduates are expected to register for the mandatory youth service.

Senate Rejects Bill Seeking to Modify NYSC Uniform
The Nigeria Senate has rejected a bill sponsored by Senator Emmanuel Bwacha (Taraba-South) seeking to amend the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) Act to allow corps members modify the NYSC uniform to conform with their religious beliefs.
If the bill had been passed, it would have allowed corps members to wear skirt, hijab, among others to suit their faith.

According to the timetable, Online registration for NYSC 2018 Batch A commences from March 26th to April 8th, 2018.
Printing of call-up letter will take place from 12th to 15th April, 2018 while orientation camp date is yet to be announced.

Mercy Corps NGO Commits to Nigerian Youth Mentorship
An International Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO), Mercy Corps, has reiterated its commitment towards youth mentorship across the country.
The Director for Nigeria's Mercy Corps, Darius Radcliffe, disclosed this today during a courtesy call on NYSC Director-General, Brigadier General Suleiman Kazaure in his office.
Radcliffe said the aim of Mercy Corps is to alleviate the suffering of teenagers and youths, who are victims of societal abuse such as child molestation, rape and other types of assault.
Firm Offers to Train Corps Members on Vocational Skills
Towards increasing the scope of youth empowerment and job creation among graduate youths, a firm, General Electric, has proposed to train Corps Members in different vocational skills.
It also reiterated its commitment to the development of Skills Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development (SAED) programme of NYSC Scheme, aimed at job creation among Corps Members.

The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) Management has successful deployed 2017 Batch B stream 1 Corps Members to all States of the Federation for their service year and NYSC 2017 Batch B Stream 2 orientation camp course is scheduled to commence on January 16th, 2018.
NYSC Publishes Date for Batch B Stream 2 Orientation Camping
The Management of National Youth Service Corps - NYSC has published the orientation camp date for 2017 NYSC Batch B Stream 2 Prospective Corps Members.
According to the updated timetable for NYSC 2017 Batch B PCM, the orientation camp course is set to commence from January 16th, 2018 to 5th February 2018.
Printing of call-up letters will be a week preceeding that.
NYSC 2017 Batch B Stream 2 Anticipates Camp Date as Stream 1 Concludes Today
In a formal closing ceremony, the National Youth Service Corps - NYSC 2017 Batch B Stream 1 Corps Members have concluded their orientation camp activities today in all States of the Federation and FCT.
The orientation camp course which marked the beginning of the service year started on November 21 with registration activities and swearing-in ceremony on 23rd November, 2017
