In Anambra State, the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has advised 42 corps members who failed to complete any of the four cardinal programs to come in for corrective action.

During the passing out parade of the 2021 Batch B Stream 1 corps members yesterday in Awka's Alex Ekwueme Square, the state coordinator, Mrs. Blessing Iruma, insisted that some of the offenders would have their national service prolonged while others would repeat their service year.

In addition, Iruma mentioned that 11 other corps members would receive letters of recognition from the state coordinator, while three corps members were recommended for state honors awards.

She reaffirmed the scheme's willingness to collaborate with the state government on grassroots development and urged employers of corps members to submit their requests for better service delivery as soon as possible.

The death of a female corps member, while she was serving the state, was reported by Governor Chukwuma Soludo in his speech.

IDENTICALLY, 20 corps members—15 men and 5 women—would repeat the complete service year, while 12 others, including six men and six women, would serve an extension of service in Ebonyi State for one to four months at half-pay.

This was said at Abakaliki during the graduation of the 2021 Batch B Stream 1 corps members by Mrs. Bamai Mercy, the Ebonyi NYSC Coordinator.

She expressed her gratitude to the corps members for completing their service year.

According to Mrs. Mercy, the corps members' offenses included leaving their post without permission, traveling without authorization, and breaking other NYSC regulations.
